Gaming is massive. Our industry consumes enormous amounts of energy, producing ~125,000 metric tons of CO₂ daily from PC and console use-phase emissions. CleanPlay aggregates clean power demand, aiming to underwrite 1–2 GW of new renewable energy capacity, avoiding ~4.5 million metric tons of CO₂ annually.

We’ve partnered with Sony to estimate how much electricity the average player uses while gaming on PlayStation. When a player downloads the CleanPlay app and subscribes, we automatically match their estimated energy footprint with nearly double the amount of verified, high-quality EACs. For players, there is no friction beyond downloading and subscribing on PlayStation.

Each subscription directly helps finance new renewable energy projects through long-term power contracts (VPPAs). In other words, gaming won't just be using electricity anymore; it can help build the infrastructure that produces it.
